Default Children using curse words

If she's old enough to understand reason, I would suggest explaining the situation to her. Explain that certain words are considered very disrespectful or vulgar. (hey, it's a chance to teach her some new words, too!)

Punishment, in general, is not the most effective method of changing someone's behavior. Instead, you can have her pretend she dropped the milk and let her come up with a way to handle it more appropriately. You can make a game out of it (depending on her age, I suppose). Just be sure to praise her when she handles something correctly. Reinforcement is ALWAYS better than punishment.

Besides, like others said - the words are socially unacceptable, but not the end of the world. :wink:

PS. In England during the 1800's, the word "pants" was socially unacceptable. I learned that from my conditioner bottle. :lol:
