I studied her intently, at how quick the once shiny,smooth pink ball, was now a squished blob in her mouth. "How long have you, uh. Chewed gum?" She shrugged. "Ever since I can remember I guess. My real name is Kate. But, even my parents call me Bubbles." She answered twisting her glossy blonde hair, to have it bounce back into place. "Your parents?! Dude, you have to be kidding me." I hugged my shoulders as a breeze brushed by, causing my arms to devolop goosebumps. "We should go back to the party." She said, her hair flowing behind her. "Good idea." We continued to walk back. The grass wobbled with the music, as we neared the flashing lights. Amber scurried up to me with Shelby close behind. "Open it!" She squealed, springing up in the air and shaking the box. Shelby stood clenching a paper plate cramped with any food imaginable. "Alright alright." I glanced over at Bubbles next to me. Her eyes sparkled with anxiety. I slowly ripped off the wrapping paper, and let the wind take it behind me. I snapped open the box and dumped out, whatever was in there into my hands. A black leather bracelet. The middle was silver, and gleamed as the colorful lights reflected onto the words ' Bestfriends forever♥" that were ingraved.
Amber snatched it out of my hands, and attempted to put it on my wrist. "What do you think?" She whispered finally clipping it. "I love it!" I gave her a hug, and noticed Shelby had cheddar smeared on her pale face, actually giving it some color. And in her hands was a crumpled bag of cheetos. "Shelby, where did you get those? I didn't have cheetos at my party."Oh, these. Yeah, they were your gift. But I kind of ate all of the other stuff on my plate." She stated, looking at the empty plate resting in the grass. "Hey, who's the blondy?" Shelby asked pointing to Bubbles. Bubbles grabbed her hair, and flung it behind her. Her violet eyes softly stared at Shelby. "Oh, I'm Bubbles." She smiled, extending out her hand. Shelby laughed, and slapped it back."Honey, I feel so bad for you! What kind of parents would name their child that?" Shelby responded licking her fingers. "I just get called that because I chew so much of these." She pulled out a ripped plastic bag, which held at least a dozen of vibrant pink gumballs. "I see. Can I have one please!" Shelby begged, tossing the empty bag of cheetos along with the plate. "Sure." She answered revealing the bag to Shelby. "Thank you!" Shelby, stuck her hand in the bag and examined each one, as if there was one perfect one for her. Amber rolled her green eyes and looked Bubbles up and down. Her eyes seemed to flare with envy. "Alright! Lets go dance!" I said grabbing Amber's hand and pulling her away from them.
