Maybe this isn't the best advice but if I'm getting bored with a book I will often just put it down and go on to another one that I really want to read. Once I'm done that one or run into a particularly boring bit, I'll switch back to the first book. I've almost always got at least two books on the go at any time.

I'll keep one by my bed and one in my school bag so I've always got something when I feel like a read.
