Default Epic Eyes In Gimp!

Hello all, it's Izzy here, with an eye tutorial!

First thing's first; open Gimp and your starting image.

Zoom into the eye.

Use the smudge tool to rid yourself of those nasty pixels.

Make a new layer, and with a small brush, outline the eyelid in black.

Make another new layer and paint random flecks of color in the iris.

Go to [Filters >> Blur >> Gaussian Blur] and press Ok.

Merge down all the layers.

Use the Dodge/Burn tool to highlight lines around the iris. Repeat using the Burn tool.

Highlight lines closer to the pupil.

Burn on the outside of the iris.

Now, we need some shine in this eye. Make a new layer and paint some white spots.

Go to [Filters >> Repeat Gaussian Blur].

Make another new layer and paint eyelashes using brown or black. You might want to use the fade-out option in the toolbox. Add a bit of shine to the eyelashes by painting light lines using a light gray color.

Merge your layers down, and you're done!
