I've never heard of any of those artists, time for Google! I love strange and abnormal stuff, so I'm interested in Steampunk and other subcultures. My own personal stuff is more cute and colourful.

I'm also a total history buff, so anything like that piques my interests and calls for further attention.

It would be nice to hear some Rasputina or Emilie Autumn around.

There is something beyond disturbing when one is in Arcadia and you hear hip-hop crap playing in all the rooms.

*shudders*
Indeed, I couldn't agree even more. We need Emilie Autumn and the music that Mylucina has produced. That way it will have much more of the Neo-Victorian feeling to it. Abney Park is also a delightful Steam-Punk Band that would just go perfect with the venue.

I am more of a raver but I'll say steampunk has it's charm. I would like to meet more of those people instead of "Scene kid's possers" -___-" I swear few of them know something more beyod the medric droid.

Getting back to the topic, Yes I like the style and the music...very much the fall colors so awesome <3
We should probably create an individual topic regarding the situation of the "Scene Clones". Sorta of an awareness if you will.

The one problem here is how they play the music in not just Arcadia but in all rooms.
they have the rooms link up to different radio stations in S.F, but I do wish they would play something that fits the theme of Arcadia.

I for one would love to hear some Emilie Autumn and not just that but new music that isn't mainstream. Great way to find more artist and bands your interested it

Babbage Boardwalk has dark ambient playing in it and there's only maybe two crappy songs in Cathedral Club. As it were, I'm glad they don't play Rasputina or Emilie Autumn because both of them annoy me. Now Abney Park or Vernian Process would be a different story.
I agree. I honestly don't like Emilie Autumn. But I love the Steampunk style.

I love the style and uniqueness of Steampunk/Neo-Victoriana Literature, and the fashion is fun because it's a bit of a challenge to find or make. I've heard of all those bands, but have never actually listened to their music. Honestly, I'm a bit afraid that it might ruin my 'image' of Steampunk. What exactly defines "Steampunk Music?"

I love Neo-Victorian, Lolita, Visual kei and Guro~!
Also harajuku+Decora but more along the lines of Lolita+visual kei~! I love elegant aristocrat, Gothic Lolita, Punk lolita, etc.

Music is all Visual kei+J-rock. I do like the heavy bands though. My two favourites are D'espairsray+Dir en Grey. I also like Ayabie, Exist Trace, DIO ~Distraught overlord~, The GazettE, Aural Vampire and stuff~
I just love Vkei+jrock!! ~ x3

I absolutely adore Abney Park, I have three of their albums, as well as a collection of Emilie Autumn (although I would classify her as neo-classical, electronica, or dark wave rather than Steampunk), a few choice Rasputina songs, and I'm working on Vernian Process. I'm also a fan of old school goth, post punk, darkwave, ambient, dark cabaret and ethereal, but those are so rarely played anywhere beyond actual club nights.

I will admit though, being able to play something in the rooms beyond what's preset would be amazing.
