My mom is pretty strict when it comes to things like Stephen King, but she finally let me start reading his books. Right now, I'm almost half way through with The Stand. If all of his books are like this one, then they aren't so much scary as there are disturbing. Before my mom let me starting reading his book, I secretly read a couple of his short stories. I read The Road Virus Heads North, Riding the Bullet, and Everything's Eventual. I tried to read 1408 but I could get past this very slow part at the beginning. Then again, I was only twelve or thirteen. I'm sure if I tried again, I could get through it.
Yes,I Had Your same problem

I've heard of many positive reviews of Stephen King's books, maybe I should check out one of his books (Because I ALSO love horror stories)

My husband is From the town in Maine that he grew up in. Portland.

And I've been to the hotel that the outside of the shining was shot at, in Estes Park, Colorado. The interior of the hotel was entirely shot in studio, and there was no maize, but it was still brilliant.

I've only just started reading Stephen King books this year because my friend told me they were really good, and I must say that she was right. :3 So far I've read Salem's Lot, Carrie, and I just started reading Pet Sematary. I'm reading them in Spanish, though, but they're still awesome. ^^

I've only read Insomnia and Carrie so far and I loved them. They were super creepy! The Dark Tower series by Stephen King is next on my to-read list. Anyone here read those books?
