Default ATMs in High Schools

My High School, a public magnet, is thinking about placing ATMs on the school campus for students to use. There are it's pros and cons, but what do you think about it?

I personally think it'd be a neat idea for those who have debit or credit cards, as long as there is security method involved. Having an ATM filled with money lying there isn't such a great idea, especially with hackers around the school (we have an IT academy).

There are hackers everywhere in places outside of high school too. We have ATMs on my college campus and we have never had any problems.

And I'm sure if your school did get an ATM, they would rig security cameras up near the area to watch. Anyone who would be foolish enough to think they can get away with stealing money from an ATM would probably wind up in a holding cell in a heartbeat.

Could you elaborate what ATM stands for?

Oh, the one you get cash from your card with?

I don't see anything wrong in installing one at school. It's not as easy to get extra money from it as some people tend to believe. Besides, they are practically everywhere, on the streets, for example.

I don't see how it could hurt anyone. Like people said, they'd probably keep security cameras there and possibly even have a teacher or cop watch the area or check in on it every so often if security is an issue. It would simply hog energy at my school because very few students have credit or debit cards, but if there's a demand for one, you may as well meet it.
