I'm sure I read somewhere that a Mayan priest has criticised (spelling?) the theory of 2012 being the end.

The government lies to us about numerous things, But I don't recall them ever saying the world was gonna end, I remember hearing about the Mayan Calendar saying it was going to end. But I personally don't believe it.

Okay about the whole myan calender thing:
the myan calender never siad that the world was going to end. Its just the end of the calender. but does that mean it whouldnt start again.
example: on december 31 this year is the world going to expload or somthing just because its time to get a new calender? I'd think not.

1. Most calenders start in July, not December
2. It's nothing like starting a new calender every year. When we do that, we're just updating our calender, and what days of the week certain dates fall on. The calender doesn't end, it just gets updated. Compared to the Mayan calender, where it completely ended. They made no way for a new calender to be made after that.

There's a lot of things we've been lied to about by our government, and that includes every country in the world.

Think about this though. If there was a public outcry in the US and riots formed form one coast to the other, how would the government handle it? They'd declare martial law, which would override the US Constitution (which, according to the US Constitution, is treason). If that happens, the people lose their rights and the government follows its own rules. The thing is, the public to government officials ratio is vastly in the majority of the public, so even under martial law, there's not much they could do. So, the simplest thing to do is keep the public misinformed and as far away from panic as possible. If there was any mention of worry about 2012, there certainly would be a public outcry, and as we'd approach that date, things would get progressively worse.
