Sorry i was writing an essay at the time :P

basiclly a kid was asking a girl for a pencil
and the teacher told him to shutup
he said he would be quiet and she told him to shutup again
this matter got out of hand and it ended up going down to the principal
do you think this was rude?
ahg i hated that, similar thing happened to me... Wtf, i mean if you want me to do the work, i need a pencil so why don't you (as in the teacher) shut up :].

I think telling the kids to "shut up" is rude on the behalf of the teacher. The teachers are supposed to be positive examples for children. If even they are being rude, how can one expect the upcoming generation to grow up polite?

If it was in the middle of an important test, I can see why the teacher would want the kid to shut up. These aren't little elementary schoolers. They're 7th graders, which means that they're 12-13 years old. They can handle being told to shut up when they're supposed to be quiet.

On the other hand, if they were simply taking notes and one kid whispers to another that he needs a pencil, the teacher shouldn't comment. Of course, if the student is saying it really loudly, and is being disruptive, which does happen, I don't have a problem with it.

7th grade is middle school by me. By that time, the kids are tough enough to handle being told to shut up. If they go crying to mommy for every little thing in high school, they'll end up getting stuffed into lockers. Life is tough. Live with it.

Ehh, shut up isnt that rude. E_e
I mean my french teacher got so pissed off at us. She said "You guys dont give a sh*t about this class." (our fault)
My english teacher said "If you cant handle advanced class you can get the f*k out"
My friend asked my substitute if he wanted some corn nuts he said "I dont need nuts I have a pair of my own"
I mean teachers are humans and they can slip up on what they say or how they say things.
Maybe the teacher has been in a slump. Maybe the kid wont shut his yap.
I know I would love to smack my peers for talking during class.
I seriously dont think its rude at all..

One of my friend's teachers once told a kid that he was going to end up in jail someday. The kid did end up in jail, but still. That's kind of a mean thing to say. "Shut-up" on the otherhand isn't a big deal. If the kids never been told to shut up before, he better get used to it. In my highschool teachers say shutup almost every class.

I used to get told to shutup in elementry school all the time? Did i care? No. My friend once got into a fight with a teacher and the teacher said she wasnt going to amount to anything.. All depends on the teacher and what they say. Shutup isnt that bad then what other teachers say. You should be lucky the teacher didnt say some other shit to him.

Like someone else already said,
if the kids in 7th grade, then he's age 12-13, and honestly, you're going to be told a whole lot worse things in high school. Like, legit, if he's mad because a teacher told him to shut up, he shouldn't be in 7th grade. He needs to work on his social skills.
