People didn't care that people were dying in Vietnam? Much of the counterculture was created because of the vietnam war, so many people were so against it on a much grander scale than Iraq today.

Actually, people complain more about the parallels between the two wars, like how Iraq's beginning was exactly like Vietnam's. Since the Iraq conflict is far from over, you can't compare the ending death tolls like you did, Chad. You can only compare the death tolls from the current length of the Iraq War to that place in time of Vietnam, and from what I understand, the tolls are pretty freaking close.

Bush is more or less babysitting Iraq. I wish he would cater to his own country first though, because, yenno, that's his job.

I don't have a problem with war. It is quite human nature to engage in the acts of war. After all, when diplomacy fails what else is there? Still, I don't agree with this war because I don't agree with the cause or the way in which it has been carried out. I mean we suspended the iraqi police within days of invading the state even though they were more than willing and able to help. We're creating a new nazi germany. We put people in desperate situations and they are going to react desperately.
