Not really. You can be smart and popular.

When I was in high school there were like 2 groups of popular kids. The first group took honors and AP classes and were in student government and they talked to everybody. The second group were average to lower achieving students who were popular but cruel. They use to openly insult other people and act like they ruled the school.

I see the reasoning with this.
The popular kids don't do work, don't learn and only live in a world where they are the most loved. Whereas, the people with less friends can spend more time on their work and stuff.
Well, I see a good side to this. I may not be popular, but I'll be the one sitting in a mansion at the top of a multi-selling business at the end of the day.

Wrong. First of all, much too broad. This sounds like a crap study to me.
In my group at school I have at least six friends who are incredibly cerebral and are at the same time "popular". I know they are all destined to do great things. Willpower.

I think that popularity varies and it's stupid to treat all popularity the same.
Bytheway, none of my friends have ever had someone carry their books for them..

Could you post a link to the study? Sounds really flawed to me.
a study that isn't crap, tho-

says that the commonality of popular kids in school is that they're mostly the most duplicitous...(the best liars)

I didn't mean it in an offensive way. No need to spazz. I'm just the messenger.

Then I'm going to need name, title, who did it, and publication date.
At the very least two of those.

Because that study also sounds INCREDIBLY flawed and I'd like to see how they ended up with that assumption.
