What's so "skanky" about short clothes? I highly doubt that a six-year-old is going to try to be provocative--or even know what that means. I mean, for crying out loud. I had short shorts and belly shirts when I was little because they were cute and comfortable and not restricting. Unless the intent is to be sexual, which is more in the person's mannerisms and how the entire outfit is portrayed as a whole, the outfit itself can hardly be seen that way unless it is labeled or portrayed as being meant to give off that idea. Who really wants to go trick-or-treating in a long, starchy skirt anyway?

We don't see those in my area, it get's WAY too cold during Halloween here to wear skimpy costumes.

I agree with you, 12 is fine but i saw a 3 yo wearing a mini skirt n a crop top, i was like ewww wat kind of mother let's there daughter wear that at that age, anyway my older bro only let me wear them when i was like 12 but 3 come on

Now a days its very common for younger girls to wear skanky outfits but I think it is wrong, the problems are in their parents. Cause the parents buy or approve these costumes for their children to wear.

I've never seen "skimpy" costumes for children. I have seen Freddy, Jason, Michael Myers, soldier, flesh-eating zombies and other costumes that let our children dress as killers. I find it funny that that is acceptable in society but a short skirt is horrible.

I seen those! I was soooo shocked! I think that in todays world children have to grow up fast enough as it is,and they should stay children long as they can. We as parents shouldnt buy the product,the manufactures are doing their job..supply and demand.

Lulz, for some girls at my school, Halloween is the time to dress in a slutty maid's outfit, or a princess outfit, or SOMETHING slutty, & no one can bash em for it.

But I've never worn anything slutty for Halloween. First of all, it's freezing at night time here, I'm going to be out on the streets, or party hopping, I mean, I don't want my butt or chest freezing up.

But I said I've never worn a slutty costume, why? Because sure, there are slutty costumes, but it's as simple as, DON'T BUY IT. I mean, I'm being a cow for Halloween. Not slutty at all. I GOTTA SAY THO, I LOOK PRETTY CUTE IN IT. : )

Well I am being nothing this year and to be honest last year I was a dead hooker. A zombie hooker. But my skirt wasnt as skimpy as the little costumes that they are putting on young children.

I do agree that childrens-teens costumes are getting a bit too skimpy. I rememeber when I was in 6th grade (11 years old), I needed a halloween costume. Since I was tall, the ones for my age wouldn't fit me properly, so I had to wear a teenager-marketed costume. It was a devil costume and it came to my mid thighs and made me look like a wh*re.

It all depends on the parents, after all, they are the ones who buy these outfits. As for me, I prefer to dress up my girls in a modest fashion.
