Do you think the people at church have never used "bad" words? They have, 99% of them ;)

Curse words are just arbitrary, chosen for forceful consonant sounds. A century ago, "egads" and "humbug" were considered serious curse words, and today we regard them as quaint and cute. Besides, blurting out an expletive every now and then is much healthier than holding anger and annoyance in.

My ma gave me books, let me swear in or out of the house, now the kids who weren't allowed to swear, and didn't like to read in their childhood, are the ones who curse up a storm, and their kids aren't much better. so from my perspective, it's easy to keep your kids from swearing, just give them alternative words, things like 'your thought processes are fetid, you should probably alter them for your own safety' is roughly equivalent to 'hey shithead, smarten up or i'm gonna smack you'.
