If they use a fake SS# they are paying income taxes. Especially if they receive a company check, which how it is.
Unless the owners KNOW they are hiring illegals and they pay them under the table, then they will be paying income taxes.

I know this is a common misconception. But that's why I think they are entitled to use the public education system. The only difference is that they can't claim their taxes at the end of the year.

Yeah.
I was actually talking to my boyfriend about this last night. I don't remember how it got brought up, but we started talking about mexicans who hang around places like home depo, and get picked up for landscaping and house keeping, and I personally have never seen ANY Latinos hanging around outside waiting for someone to drive by. I think it probably happens in places closer to the border though.

I would assume those that are closer to the border are a lot tougher on immiragtion then people in midwest and farther away from the border. And so people when people want cheap labor, it's just easier to pay under the table.

To tell you the truth, I've mostly stopped reading what you post. It's not because I believe you have proved anything, it's just that ignorance, however mild it may be, tends to infuriate me. It's a problem I need to work out.

Right, because the fact that I AM an immigrant who HAS BEEN through the process, and that I'm MARRYING and LIVE (and work) with illegal immigrants makes me ignorant on this subject.

And since you posted an that thread about Glenn Beck, I'm not surprised. He's a racist and doesn't even try to hide it.

Unless you have actually been through the process of immigration, you have no idea what you're talking about. And you have no idea how hard it is to get over here from countries that aren't on a very good basis with the US.

You can claim that I'm ignorant all you want, but at least I'm not naive enough to believe that anyone can just "sit and wait" to get their papers the legal way.

No, it makes my opinion informed.
Because I know what you have to go through, and what kind of money you have to spend.

Most Americans think it's so easy to become a citizen, when it's not.
Not everyone will get accepted into this country.
Only the wealthy and the skilled, what use does America have for uneducated, and unskilled people?

Why bother even applying if you know you'll get rejected, you won't get that money back.
