No, most people on welfare don't even bother looking for jobs, which is why they had to put a limited amount on how long one could BE on welfare. Plenty of people just leech off the government because they are lazy and unwilling to take 7$ an hour jobs.

Now we Americans are getting a small taste of what the Native Americans felt when Europeans came here. The issue at stake isn't immigration, but rather, overpopulation. But, nobody seems to want to address this issue.

There are different types of welfare. If you're talking about food stamps, you can work and still be eligible for food stamps. Same for WIC, which is another great program for pregnant and newly moms. I'm talking about receiving money from the government because you are UNABLE to work for a while. Like if you had some kind of injury, or your WIC has run out and you can't leave your child anywhere. It shouldn't stop you from looking for a job, there are plenty of services available, there is no excuse to just it on welfare and attempting to do nothing.

Like I said MOST, and I've taken enough social economics classes and seen a lot of documentaries to assume, yes A LOT people on welfare are not out looking for a job. Like I said, if they were indeed looking for a job the government would not have had to put a cap on how many years a person can be on welfare. It's jut like you saying: Quote:

Everything below #23 can help you out. A family cannot possibly survive on that much money every month unless they were earning from another income - that being said, federal guidelines say you must earn a certain amount to be given a certain amount - unless you have a special circumstance. There is a grace period for unemployed persons who is receiving government assistance. If you feel someone is committing welfare fraud or abusing the program, there is a number for you to call and you can report "most" people. Quote:

Snap is not the same thing as welfare. Like I said, there are different types of welfare and yes, a lot of people abuse it. Labor laws protecting someone doesn't mean that they aren't willing to work for lower wages. Not everyone will get testy if they only get paid 7$ an hour compared to whatever an illegal immigrant makes. The cooks at my job are illegals, they make 10$ an hour, the hostess who is an American citizen makes 6.50$ which is below minimum wage, and she doesn't get tipped. So clearly some Americans DO take low paying jobs which pay less then other people.

Restaurant jobs, like waitressing, is commission pay. They need to be paid a base pay and the rest is based on their performance - minimum wage differs on a local level. Santa Fe's min wage is $9+ while River Falls its & $6.75 | |||||||
