No. Generally I think that any type of clothing can be "in fashion" and only the way you wear it, the accesories that you use and maybe sometimes the color fade out and become "out of fashion" after a couple of years.

Everyone has thier own style. Its ot the 'type' of clothes, it's how you wear it
For example, I admire your outfit not because it's gothic, but how you made it look good . As you can see, I myself am feeling kind of down now, so I went with a nutreal and more bright color.

I think gothic clothing is rather low-class and tacky, but each to their own.
If they want to look ridiculous and brooding, fine by me.
