Default Re: Help me buy my first Mac/and, what of the iPhone?

Lucy, you may have overlooked my question with everything else I wrote along with that reply.

Anyway, I asked are you ordering it offline or are you going to the Apple Store?

Because if you order off of the internet I got mine here.

Haha... Nope it's on me! Though I might be able to use a deduction on my taxes.

Sorry if I'm a tad late,

Please, go for the 4gb , 2 is not enough for ANY new operating system (it's fine for older, like Microsoft XP or Mac Tiger), but DO NOT get 2 it will be slow . Newer operating systems are graphic heavy too (from what I see Leopard is a lot like vista D: ), and it makes them slow (atleast in my experience) . I haven't got much of a chance with leopard (I was playing with macs before my new laptop) . I'm personally not a fan of Mac , especially the ipod and Iphone their support is really hard to deal with!

Just hope it doesn't crash either, laptops are not as strong as desktops. My laptop crashed yesterday (I have vista D: ) and I have to deal with the whole send it off crap.

Might i make a small suggestion?

I know you are probably using a Windows operating system. Well theres another operating system called Linux. If very handy and can work with all your computer needs.

you could read about it here:
Linux - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Yes, linux, once it's installed it's a real treat, if you can deal with firefox slowing down the desktop and then dying(flash problem seems to be the root), you can use meez on it quite happily. but, installing it can either be a 10 minute dream, or a month long chore, depends on the one you get, getting one already installed is best for the newb, less than a minute to set timezone and password if you're fast on the draw. after install, they all operate pretty much the same, if you want additional software, it's usually in a repository and takes a few seconds to start the install.

I know about Linux & would run it if that were what we were using in Meez HQ - sadly I have to have the same platform as ze HQ so that I can work effectively.

Thx though!
