Missed you and everyone else on Meez, too! And thanks for the all better, it helps! JB was only there on Thurs and Fri, but we wanted to see GDL, so we got Sunday tickets. It was hilarious when he first saw us. We were the first Torchwood cosplay group he'd seen in the US, so he kind of did this double take because we were off to the side looking over the photos and then he giggled under his breath, so I said "You knew it would happen at some point," and he replied with "But you look great!" When I get the pictures posted you will see that we went with the full commitment, right down to haircuts and colors, so it was pretty wild. Then when we made our next walkby I gave him this little Jack wave and he giggled again and did it right back. Then I got fanboyed by a brilliant classic Joker and that set him off again, too. It was a bunch of fun around the BBC America booth, where we got the most recognition. There weren't even any Doctor cosplayers, so we were pretty much the only ones representing BBC scifi, but that made us all the more special. Oh, and one thing GDL answered for us. On the question of whether Ianto was jealous over the soldier-in-a-bar bit from Stolen Earth, he admitted it was a tiny bit of jealousy and that Ianto feels a little bit jealous of all of Jack's experiences, but it was just as much that he wondered why he wasn't there to meet the soldier, too. Naughty-minded Ianto. We also noted that he's totally in shape at the moment and when we asked him if this means there's going to be another shirtless scene, he gave us a coy grin and flexed. And seriously, if you ever get the chance to see him in person, you'll -really- get why Jack would have it bad for Ianto. GDL is amazingly pretty face-to-face.

My BFF got me addicted to Doctor Who last summer and I'm glad she did. It certainly helped cheer me up after my favorite show ended last summer. I've become a huge David Tennant fan because of the show. He is so goregeous and such a good actor.

I am just grinning here typing because I am imagining you doing the wave and him giving it back. Just Brilliant...BRILLIANT!!!!! And YOU got fanboyed? I am so sorry. Though...it is a good compliment. Was there a question and answer session with him...or did you just go up and ask him about the moment in "The Stolen Earth?" Plus...flexing. Oh yeah...OH YEAH! How did hubby handle your fan-girl gooing???

The fanboying was actually pretty fun. I just felt one of those slinkups next to me and turned and there's a brilliantly done-up classic joker who just gushed "Captain Jack, I've been dying to meet you!" and then we did photo ops.. And it was just about five feet from GDL, who was looking over and got another giggle going. I might add he does that a lot. He has a giggle fit over something about every ten minutes, it seems, although it might have a lot to do with jetlag, too. Still, it was nice for him to see that Torchwood really does have a fanbase over here. When he's at Dragon Con with James Marsters I hope it cements it enough for him that he'll come back again next year, by which time I hope Torchwood's US broadcast issues will be worked out so there'll be even more American fans. There wasn't a Q&A on Sunday, don't know about the other days. We just walked up and bugged him and he chatted away about it. You can tell he loves playing Ianto just by the way he talks about him. He's keeping pretty busy with other projects with the short season, doing a lot of theater, audiobooks (his voice is amazing), and promoting his band and Disgracelands, which is.. Well, heck, where most of his band comes from, but it's clear Ianto is his favorite thing to do and talk about. And yes, the wave was a real thrill, since he did it pointedly in the flirty Janto style to keep with the cosplay. Back to the hubby, though, we're pretty trusting about that sort of thing. If Eve Myles or Billie Piper had been there, I'd have had to relinquish him for most of the day, so it's even. He got his thrills when Marina Sirtis showed up at the next booth along with Jonathan Frakes and LeVar Burton.. Which was yet another convo we tossed back to GDL, who is a fan of Star Trek:TNG himself. He confessed he'd already snuck over there to meet his own scifi heroes. I correct myself on the BBC America cosplayers. There was one small child, about 6, who was dressed as a Dalek and was adorable at it, but he only lasted the morning, or at least I never saw him after that. And we did see a guy getting his photo with the Dalek display who unfairly was not dressed as Tenth, because he looked so much like David Tennant it was scary. If our camera had not been halfway down the convention center at the time with my hubby, I'd have a photo of him, too.

![]() Very nice anniversary gift. Can't remember what I got this year...wait...Vegas...right. Hee hee. Next year I'm asking for David Tennant. We'lll see what happens. I'm glad your Hubby has an understanding though. I'm pretty sure the same thing would happen if DH saw Maggie Gylanhal, (that's his girlie) Though he doesn't really do the "Fanboy" type of thing. To upright I suppose. It's really cool you guys could just chat him up for a while. Honestly...I would have probably turned red and hidden behind you. I talk big...and then get all shy. (You should have seen me when I met Peter Tork. Yes...Peter Tork from The Monkees...I know DORK) It sounds like GDL is such a nice guy. Audio books? Which one's? Anygood? ![]() I would have loved to have seen the little Dalek. So cute (and you know the parents of that poor child made him dress like that. 6 year olds don't know what a Dalek is.) You should have gone up to the DT doppleganger anyway. Who knows..maybe he was The Doctor in disquise. OH....I bought a Doctor Who book last week...pretty good...and I noticed some Torchwood one's as well. Any suggestions on what to get first (I'm trying to get more reading in my life.)

![]() GDL's audiobooks are listed on his official website along with pretty much everything else he's up to. And yeah, video would've been great! Let's just say that, as cute as Ianto's inappropriate humor laughs are, they're nothing like GDL's giggle fits. He's pretty much -not- Ianto, actually, but that' why he's an actor! Yeah, the little Dalek didn't even know what to say, but he sure was cute. Just a Dalek hood and a pair of white sneakers. I'll have to look around online and see if there's a photo of him up somewhere. And whoa, Peter Tork? I'm jealous. Although Mike was always my Monkee. Anyhow, as BBC America and SciFi channels are staples at the Comic Con, maybe next year we can arrange for a group from Meez to go and do Who/Torchwood cosplay on one of the days. San Diego's always worth the visit and it's not too far from Vegas! How about it, everyone? It is truly geek central in there, and next year promises to be just as wild as this one with all the upcoming comic-based movie releases next year. Yeah, that means lots of Hugh Jackman and Samuel L. Jackson, maybe Robert Downey Jr, and hey, maybe we'll get representation from the Doctor himself.

You know....Peter Tork in real life...not like Peter on The Monkees. A bit of an A-hole. *sigh* It was still cool. And yeah....Mike is my favorite too...but Mike doesn't tour or sing in public anymore. And Peter was playing in this little dive bar near my mom's apartment at the time. I do have his autograph CD though. I'd LOVE to go to Comic-Con next year. Maybe I could arrange it around the time I take a trip to see my mom (she lives in Sacramento) that way...hubby won't protest (to much) and I'd have a built in babysitter. Heck...my Step-Dad may even want to go!! (He's a nerd too) Did you happen to see the Dr. Horrible stuff too? I know they were there...just don't kow where there. Hugh Jackman....yumm. RDJ...I'm okay with...now DT...THAT would be BRILLIANT!!!
