I know it has been awhile, but I was just watching Serenity again and I noticed something interesting. The writing for Wash is especially thin. He makes a couple jokes and makes the plot device observations in a strange, shiny voice. And then he dies. It's almost as if they don't want you to like him, or be interested in him so they can kill him off. Very sacrificial character, very weird...

Apparently Joss was always going to kill Wash off (if the series would have gotten further in we would have seen that) but yeah...not too much with Wash in Serenity. I think mainly because the movie does tend to revolve around River...so maybe Joss just sorta...forgot him. Dunno.

Ummm...while I agree Dr. Horrible was pretty darn genuis, and great Jossness, I don't think it "poops" on everything else. Personally....Firefly...best Joss show EVER!
