Thoughts on immortality. Not invincibility.

will we achieve it?
when will we achieve it?
impact on society?
impact on individuals?

If it ever gets achieved, I won't have a job if I'm still around. No dead people is bad for business. XD

I don't think it will ever be achieved unless we started to make cyborgs. Half mechanical humans that is.
If immortality was achieved then the world would get completely over-populated, what happens then?

Ever seen Tuck Everlasting? (It's a movie and a book)
It deals with immortality. The family (the Tucks) drink from a spring in the woods and they stop exactly where they are.
The boy was 17 when he drank it. Some hundred years have passed and he remains 17. In short he meets a girl, falls in love and she has to choose whether or not to drink from the spring to stay with him forever.

Quite an easy read and a good book if you're interested about the subject of immortality.
Book is by Natalie Babbitt.
Movie has Alexis Bladel in it.

That'd scare me, to be honest. D:
I want to die SOMEtime.

Especially once everyone on Earth is round and fat and jiggly. :C
