The sound of it was so comforting to me for some reason..... Riiiiing, beep beep beep, whoooo, beeep, wee-oop, ring, ring...... But then my Gateway 2000 broke, and we had to get one of them newfangled laptops. Mind you, I love MacBooks with a burning passion, but something about the refrigerator-sized monitor, the awful graphics, and the noise of my old computer that always made me happy. Anyone share my love of the '90s computer?

The dial up tones were very tempting to dance to. Plus, I have a million and five memories with my old one. So, I have to share your love of the good ol' 90's computers.

Dial Up tone was somehow nice, but at times annoying, Also the speed of dial-up.. Thank God to broadband. Would never go back to dial up, seems like "stone age" to me. ![]() As for the old computers, well I swear they break down less compared to our new ones. Or perhaps it's because of the system they were running? Either case, my passion lies with new generation computers and laptops. : )

I agree, older one did seem to break down a whole lot less. Same thing with cellphones though. It's like the more technology they put into something, the less time they put into putting it together.

My old Gateway would break nonstop, but it lasted forever. It didn't really break, it just got a bit buggy and my mom didn't know what to do (I was just a little kid back then) but it was always acting up. I never used broadband. I went straight from dial-up to wi-fi.

Mine would constantly get attacked by the Lag Monster, but that was really it for mine. Wi-Fi is God's gift on Earth though. But have you gone back on your old computer since your new one? XD I kept my old one and it still had that Window's Home or whatever one it, I still have fun with that. They need to put that one the new computers. It would be the best thing ever.

My Gateway broke after like, 7 or so years of use, I was in second grade, and it was unfixable, or it wasn't worth fixing, sadly. If it wasn't permanently broken, I would have used it just for old time's sake. D:

Oh goodness. At least you got a good bit of time from it. I still think that solitaire was harder on the older computers. They're dumbing down card games for us. XD
