I haven't watched many anime's but the ones I did had an interesting plot, for example "Slayers". Plus I love how they make the most dangerous situations silly by some characters actions. Also, the characters are well developed and have very different personalities.

Some people make fun of anime, but that's usually because they don't understand the plot, or have only heard of mainstream geeky stuff like Pokemon or Sailor Moon. Anime Rocks 4 Life!!!

The art is really nice too, usually.
