Pssh, I study the night before the test and don't even go to sleep, stumble into class, and knock out that thing in 30 minutes. or for more persevering people, study like a fool in the library with a tankard of black coffee days in advance. Everyone's method is different, but remember to replicate the situation during the test (say you drank coffee while studying -- drink coffee during/before the test) for maximum recall.

| I only just found this forum! ![]() I found some exam survival tips in a cook book, so all of the credit goes to Sam Stern's Cooking Up A Storm cookbook, not me! Though I have twisted them slightly, fusing my own ideas into it, so don't kill me if it's not word-for-word! ![]() 1- Drink LOADS of water. Not too much, or you'll have to constantly keep going for a pee. But drinking water keeps you hydrated and cool, and quenches your thirst better than any other drink. 2- Cut down on caffeine. Caffeine is good for the occasional late night revision/studying, but not all the time. When you overload on caffeine, it whacks up your heart rate and you start to find focusing very hard. So don't constantly drink coffee, tea, energy drinks, Coke, etc. 3- Eat your breakfast EVERY DAY. As always said, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Eating the right thing for breakfast gives you energy, and you'll work better. Ditch the sackfuls of cereal and eat something nutritious. 4- Eat omega 3s. Ultimate brain boosters! Find them in oily fish, like salmon, fresh tuna, mackerel, sardines and anchovies. Omega 3 foods are brain foods. Eat them regularly, and you'll find you'll be able to concentrate better. 5- Take time out to exercise. If you're feeling stressed, have a timeout from homework and go to the gym, play football with your friends or any other type of exercise. 6- Sleep well. It's good to get loads of sleep, it's the ultimate stress-release. But it's hard if you've got exams the next day. If you find you can't get to sleep, don't lie awake and read. If counting sheep doesn't work, try deep breathing. Take slow, steady, deep breaths through your nose and let them out through your mouth, as if you're blowing through a straw. Before bed, maybe make yourself a hot milky drink to calm you down. Try hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows, it always calms me (me and in Heather!) down if I'm stressed over exam revision/homework. ![]()

| Study Tip: Stay Focus, and alert. Don't force on yourself so hard. And you need a good night sleep. Cause your body needs to rest, from working hard. ![]()

If you have some sort of vocabulary to study, record yourself saying the words and save them as an MP3. My vocab book has an online audio that I can download. I play it in my sleep before midterms and finals and stuff. Also, I help myself study for History by starting debates in the Controversy forum that are relevant to what the chapter is on.
