Hello dearest Meezers!

We are now launching our first PHOTOGRAPHY CONTEST! We're thinking about making this a weekly or monthly thing, depending on how much you, our lovely Meezers, participate. It's all up to you!

Since Meez is an avatar website, we've decided a good theme for this contest would be The Self. What makes you YOU? What makes an individual unique? Kinda complex, we know, but you guys can handle it. You are all ridiculously talented.

So then, here are the rules:

1. Your entry must be no taller than 300 pixels and no wider than 500 pixels.

2. Post your entry as a reply to this thread. Save as a .jpg, .gif, or .png file.

3. Make sure your entry somehow relates to this contest's theme: The Self.

4. Only post your original work! Any copyrighted or stolen work submitted will result in an infraction and possibly a permanent ban.

5. All entries are due on Wednesday, July 29th, at 5pm PST.


And, the prizes! Here they are:

1st Place: 4,000 coinz! And, your photo in the newsletter!

2nd Place: 2,000 coinz!

3rd Place: 1,000 coinz!

NOTES: There are a LOT of questions in this thread! Here are some answers:

Your entry must be a PHOTOGRAPH, as in a picture taken with a CAMERA. You can photoshop it as much as you want, but it must have started out as a PHOTO.

You do not have to include a Meez in your photo. Since avatars don't exist in the real world, it might be kind of difficult anyway.

Remember, this is a more artistic contest: your photograph should follow the THEME of "The Self." Whatever that means to you! Be creative! You definitely are not expected to take a picture of yourself. Think deeper than that, if you dare.

This is NOT a poster contest. It's a PHOTOGRAPHY contest! Take pictures and edit them! But most importantly, have FUN.

No, we definitely expect you to get more creative than that!

Your picture should show its viewers whatever you think when you think of the "self." Maybe that's a tree, because at the root of all people is nature...maybe it's a human face superimposed over a sunset, to show how humans are one with nature. On Meez, we do a lot of avatar stuff, and really avatars are just little representations of our "selves." So, how can you represent that "self" of yours using photography?

Does that make more sense?

This photo represents me because I walk on my own two feet and make my own choices, though they might not always be the best choices, I learn from my mistakes.

This one represents me because I really like reading (manga haha.) If I didn't have anything to read, I'd go insane.



This photo is of my cat Gigi. It represents me because he is my responsibility as a teenager to take care of him. He trusts me to take care of him and protect him. If anything happend to him, I'd never forgive myself.
