| Spring Rolls Recipe This is a staple dish in my country, and is best eaten with catsup or sweet and sour sauce. ![]() INGREDIENTS: Homemade Wrapper: 2 large eggs 2 cups cornstarch 2 cups water 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil Filling: ½ cup oil 2 cloves garlic, crushed 1 small onion, chopped ¼ kilo ground pork, ¼ kilo shrimps, chopped 1 cup soup stock 1 kilo lean ground beef 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon pepper spring onions (for garnish) Sauce: You can use bottled sauce if you want. ½ cup sugar 1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 cups broth 1 teaspoon salt 2 tablespoons cornstarch dispersed in water 4 cloves garlic, crushed PROCEDURE: Prepare the Wrapper: Combine all the ingredients and bear until smooth. Preheat a non-stick pan.Pour a scant ¼ cup of the batter into the pan then tilt the pan from side to side to spread it evenly. When the sides loosen from the pan, invert into a plate. Do the same for the rest of the batter. Prepare the Filling: Heat the oil then sauté the garlic and onions. Add ground beef, ground pork and shrimps and stir-fry until cooked. Add soup stock and cover.Cook over medium heat until pork and beef is tender. Then cook for 5 minutes more. Season to taste. Cool in a colander to drain out excess liquid. Set aside the broth for the sauce. Prepare the Sauce: Blend first 4 ingredients in a pan. Bring to a boil.Thicken with cornstarch mixture. Sprinkle with minced garlic quick tip: You can skip this step and opt to buy bottled sweet and sour sauce or catsup instead. To Assemble: Place a wrapper on a plate. At the center of the wrapper, place about 2 tablespoons of the filling then fold the sides first, then roll until the end of the wrapper. Seal the edges using egg wash. Fry the assembled pieces until golden brown. Serve with the dipping sauce.

OOOHHHH!!! Yum! Thank you for posting this! Looks wonderful!!! I will definitely be trying this one... But I can't eat shrimp... I love the stuff, but I developed an allergy to it and it makes my stomach hurt. I can probably substitute the shrimp with chicken, right? | |||||||

you can use just ground beef, or just ground pork, or just ground chicken or mix them altogether, it's okay, shrimp is just added for extra flavor.
