Rules and Guidelines

1 ) Be nice, make friends
Be polite and friendly to the other people you encounter here.
Remember that there are real people behind the avatars, and the real people you meet have feelings, too.

2 ) Report abuse
If someone is breaking the guidelines outlined here, use 'report abuse' to report them.
In the forums, the 'report abuse' link appears on every post and PM.
In MeezNation, you can click on a user's name, then select 'report abuse' from the menu.

3 ) Never share your password
Meez staff members will NEVER ask you for your password.
If someone asks for your password, report abuse!
If someone asks you for your password, it is a SCAM to try to steal your account.

4 ) Never share your account
It is against the rules to share your account with ANYONE. Even a brother or sister, best friend, anyone, it is not okay. If you do choose to break this rule and share your account with your brother or sister or friend, and something bad happens, YOU will be the one responsible for it.

5 ) Stay on topic
Some places on Meez, such as forums, or private rooms, may be reserved for the discussion of certain topics.
In these places, please keep discussion relevant to the topic that has been set.
This keeps everything organized, and fun for all.

6 ) Be respectful
Bullying and abusive language are not allowed.
We encourage self expression and value constructive criticism, but if your speech is excessively vulgar, insulting, explicit, or hateful, it will be removed and disciplinary actions may be taken on your account(s).

7 ) No harassment
If someone wishes to be left alone, then leave them alone.
Continuing to bother them despite their wish to be left alone is called harassment, and will result in action against your account.

8 ) Keep things PG-13
Meez is for anyone 13 years or older and we want the content on our site to be appropriate for all members.
Posted images or other content deemed inappropriate by the Meez team will be removed, and will result in action against your account.
Mature content and explicit role play is not allowed on Meez.

9 ) Don't do anything illegal on Meez, or encourage others to do so.

10 ) Listen to the administrators
Admins are here to keep your experience safe and Meezy. So, listen to what they say!
You can identify true Admins by their purple names in the Forums and MeezNation.
If someone claims to be an administrator and does not have a purple name, you should report abuse.

Failure to comply with these rules and guidelines will result in disciplinary action and ultimately the termination of your Meez account(s).
Use of Meez is subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Terms of Service.

Be Safe!

Meez is a great place to make new friends and keep in touch with old ones, but it is important to always BE SAFE.

* Keep your password a secret
Never tell anyone your password or allow them to use your account. Meez employees will NEVER ask you for your password.
If someone asks for your password, report abuse immediately! If you share your password your account WILL be stolen.

* Never share personal information!
This includes email addresses and phone numbers!
Remember that the person you are in contact with may not be who they say they are.
If you are under the age of 18, get permission from your parents before arranging to meet someone in the real world.

* Read between the lines
It may be fun to meet new people for friendship or romance, but be aware that while some people are nice, others act nice because they’re trying to get something.
Flattering or supportive messages may be more about manipulation than friendship or romance.
Think to yourself: "why would someone I just met give me free stuff?"
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is!

* Think before you post
Always remember that others people can see and report everything you say. Anything you upload can be downloaded and passed on to others.
So, think twice before posting content that might cause embarrassment, or saying something that you might regret later.
Your parents, teacher or boss might see your Meez profile!

I'd like to thank all of the 9,082 Meezers who indicated their support for these rules, through the use of the 'Support' button.
The full list was getting so long that we have to hide it (and prevent future supports) to prevent the forum from lagging when trying to display such a long list.

This was a truly great community response.
