Everytime I say to the kids at school I listen to bring me the horizon they immediately think I'm full on death metal loving person, who pokes pins into voodoo dolls and reminisces about the good times I had killing lambs to sacrifice to the devil, then when I try to tell them otherwise they don't listen

So basically I'm asking:
Do you ever get sick of people judging you by your music? When they don't really know that you may listen to other things? Like classical pieces by Debussy or Beethoven or classic rock by Led Zepplin and Guns 'N' Roses, or you know whatever floats your boat, alternative Kelsey by metro station.

Im SO fed up of people judging me by the music i love to listen to!
Just because I love Bmth,Brokencyde,Hollywood Undead And bands like that the accuse me 'EMO' and that I Worship the devil,when they dont even know I love listening to techno,house,trance songs and pop songs like lady gaga ones!

Last time I Got called 'emo' by a friend and I Ask her why am i supposed to be emo?
she told me ''because your ringtone is chelsea smile by bmth so..''

BMTH is not Metal
At all
Your friends at school must be idiots if they think you listen to metal.
And Metro Station is not Alternative
And neither of them are considered "emo"

I sometimes judge people by what they listen to, but not just by one band
When I do draw conclusions by music it's because I'm comparing them to other people who listen to the same music and often they turn out to be very similar.

Deathcore band that moved onto metalcore...so they are unfortunetly metal.
None the less i am not fond of this band, as they give both genres a bad name and people usually associate the style with this band.

My rationnal part doesn't want to consider metalcore as metal, just like nu metal.

Also, people will always judge everyone by basing on many different things they know about them,, music preference is one of these things. Am I hurt by how people describe me judging about what I listen to? No. Do I care about their judgment? No. Should I? I don't know.

I don't consider either of them metal
Mostly because if I were to consider them metal it might put the wrong idea about metal into some people's brains

To me it doesn't matter because most of my friends like the same music. AND if we don't we joke aaround and say, "OH you don't know them? You suck!! MWHAHAHA!!!"
Or we respect that we have differences'. Except my preppy friends..no offense. They think it's kinda weird. Like, "Escape The Fate?...Is that a movie?"

Bmth=not deathmetal i dont understand where metalcore went. Am i the only one that thought metalcore was good before bands like bmth came around i mean even kse is crap now old kse was awesome with jesee leeche come on. But yea people are judged for stupid reasons but its how it goes. Ppl judge me listening to crap like attila and dr. Acula.
