That video is f*cking amazing. Three guesses where Manson got his inspiration from.

But let's link the uncensored version, too =P
YouTube - Dir en Grey - Obscure -uncencored-
Quick question: You think Marilyn Manson got HIS inspiration from a band that was formed 3 years after his bands debut album?

How does that work?
Oh my... You've caught me. *raises hands with red paint on them*
Now, would you mind turning on your sarcasm meter next time?

It works because in the time after Dir en grey became popular, he was seen wearing clothing items and styles that directly imitated Diru, particularly Kyo. It works because Diru is original and he isn't, and it works because he's openly admitted to admiring them.

I love Dir en grey deeply, of course. They were my favorite band all through high school. I think that it's frankly demeaning who they've had to tour with in the US. I sure as hell hope they didn't decide on those bands themselves - Korn, fergodsakes? Bleed The Dream? When I saw Diru live with my friends, we basically went to the outdoor smoking area - even though none of us smoke - to escape the godawful opening acts, and went back in once Diru came on.

I must admit that I'm sad I was unable to see them live when they were still dressing up.

Same here. But, at least I was able to see them in Miami to begin with.

Mmm, yes. Kyo projects such a magnetic presence - such the consummate showman!

So, i heard their new song "Dozing Green" and i gotta say that i like it an awful lot. Also, listening to their newest album again, it isn't too bad. But i can definitely see why i overreacted since i was such a silly little fan girl for them. But i am impressed by the new song.
