Some guidelines, for a more peaceful and pleasant music forum:

1. Be positive. Avoid complaining about the things you dislike. Please avoid hating on bands, genres, etc that you dislike. If you like classical and not rap, for example, it is good to talk about what you see as the good points of classical, but it is not OK to keep saying bad things about rap. If someone directly asks you about it, it is OK to say that you're not a fan of it, but please don't create threads about how much you dislike rap, or make a point of going into threads about rap, and saying you don't like it. Same goes for all other genres of music, and individual bands. If you have nothing nice to say about them, don't say anything about them at all.
2. Don't make false or hypocritical generalizations. This includes saying things like "Rap only talks about sex, money, and being famous" when your favorite band just happens to be Nickelback (who has tracks about sex, money, and being famous). This also includes saying things like "of course BandX sells lots of records, they spend millions on advertising" when they don't spend millions on advertising, or your favorite bands also spend a lot of money on advertising.
3. This is the music forum, not the celebrity gossip forum. This means that if your comments about, say, Britney Spears are negative ones along the lines of "she's ugly, crazy, and has like, a million illegitimate children", then they don't belong in the music forum. If you want to critically discuss the personal lives of fameous people, try Open Board. This "Music" forum is for discussion about music. Some talk about the personal lives of artists is OK, if it is positive, or relevant to their music. On the other hand, it is not OK to simply trash an artist due to things in their personal lives. Even if the bad things you say about an artist/band/etc are true, that doesn't make it OK to say them. This forum is about music, not about celebrity gossip.

Note that threads which break these guidelines may be closed or deleted.
