Default Twerking means slutty dancing?

I hate how people speak harshly about twerking. To me, it's not slutty or trashy but a surviving piece of my cultural roots that Europeans colonizers tried to wipe out. Twerking has deep African roots, dances like mapouka celebrates the beauty of the african woman and the way she moves her body. Both Twerking and Mapouka are beautiful skills that require the mechanics of the female body and should be praised not looked down upon. Please, compare these two videos.

1.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WY048d3IKHM (African Mapouka)
2.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JNDi1mpG5ps (modern twerking)

Honestly, what is your veiw ? And I would like to hear from meezers of different ethnicities and races as well.

I assume twerking means grinding?

There is a difference between rubbing your ass up against some guy's junk and doing a traditional African dance. And if you're going to the club, the latter is definitely not your aim.

But whatever. Dance how you want. I mean they used to only show Elvis on TV from the shoulders up because moving one's hips was considered inappropriate.

The untied states give ''Dancehall'' a bad name
origin Dancehall was the name not ''Twerking''
Besides the way the Untied states uses Dancehall is pretty nasty
But that my opinion

I have no idea what twerking is and have no intention of ever really finding out.
If it's grinding on some guy or some girl, and pretty much having sex with clothes on in the middle of the dance floor, then I feel that is inappropriate in some settings.
Just me.

And your font is incredibly small, some people might find that annoying. Like myself.

Those two dances are completely different. Twerking doesn't exactly look like a surviving piece to your 'cultural roots'. The traditional African dancing is just that and the 'twerking' although I have never heard about it is basically grinding. My roots are completely Celtic yet I don't do whatever dancing the Celts did back in there day. I'm not saying don't Twerk, twerk away I really couldn't be less bothered but to me that does not look cultural in any way shape or form.

I'm not talking about twerking that means grinding, twerking involves moving your ass in a circular motion and up and down without moving the rest of your body except for your legs, for example:

Twerking

African Mapouka

you can not deny that twerkign originates from mapouka, and is basically the same thing, and yes some women who mapouka do dance on dudes.

Well, I've never seen someone "twerk" for culture.
Normally, its used to look "sexy", which it doesn't accomplish the matter, in the least bit.

I do take it that way. Especially now and how you take how SOME girls act and dance, and songs like Bandz A Make Her Dance, and girls shaking their butts in front of a camera does make it slutty. What's worse is when 13 and younger girls are dancing like this. Don't try to mix things up. You and and everyone else on this thread knows that no one twerking on a guy is thinking about African Culture.

Look what she's wearing. That doesnt seem the least bit sexual to you. Or is it all culture? No! Don't try and back that up because I know that's not how that girl is taking it.
