Default HOW TO HAVE A PARTY IN YOUR PLACE :)

Hello everyone,

In my observation, lots of meezers here have been sending out lots of party invitations in the forums and throughout the meez nation. I, on the other hand, do not invite anyone but more often than not, my place gets filled with people when I am there (and I usually leave my unexpected guests to fend for themselves ) , and everyone is asking everyone to party in their own rooms, but they end up staying there because their rooms are empty. So I thought of posting a few tips on holding parties in your own rooms (especially when holding impromptu parties):

1.) Set your room to public.

2.) Check the number of online meezers at the moment, 1000 above means you'll have better chances of having guests coming over.

3.) Deck out in your best party outfit.

4.) Go to your room.

5.) Stay there.

6.) Just stay there. Wait for a few minutes.

7.) Play some really good music videos. You may choose to set the topic on your room info with phrases like: "rockers welcome!!!" or "now showing paramore videos".

8.) Now, resist the temptation of going anywhere else to say "Let's party in my room" because every other party people is basically doing that at the same time. (Sadly, "party at my place" posts in the forum, will just eventually be bumped out by other "party at my place" posts too.)

9.) As soon as the first lucky guest pops in, be the most gracious host you can be, be super friendly and greet him or her.

10.) Try as much as you can to carry on with the conversation, ask about his/her day, school, hobbies, etc. People feel welcome if you show interest in becoming friends with them.

11.) When people start pouring in, remember to greet everyone and try to have a little chat with each of them. You may prepare jokes and some interesting stories ahead of time. Remember that you are the host so you have to keep everyone from getting bored.

12.) When people start fussing over the remote, calmly remind everyone to take turns. Be generous with your remote, people will go somewhere else if you annoy them.

13.) And if things start to get out of control, you could always report abuse, leave it to the admins to take of it and have lots and lots of patience. Never ever pick a fight with anyone.

14.) If people leave messages for you, it's better to let it stay for a while, to avoid embarrassing yourself if someone gives you a shock gift. You may opt to set to your room to private the next day to keep it all to yourself while reading your room messages. And remember to note down the names of the meezers who left messages before clicking the accept button, so that you will know beforehand who had been naughty and nice.

15.) Granting you have followed the tips above, there are better chances of holding successful parties from now on.

Wow... I mean yeah I agree with all that you mentioned under this thread. It is a great idea for those people who want to have a party to have guidelines as to how to host a party... I enjoy hosting parties and for the most part they are fun to have.

Has anyone posted a thread about "Guests Etiquette"? I mean there are many who come into a room and do the following:

Pop in and never say a word.

Run straight over to the remote and change the video without asking.

Come in and either pick a fight with someone, and or just come in and insult everyone.

I just wondered if anyone thought about posting something that could encourage good behavior from both the guests and the hosts.

Well, I haven't read anything about guests' ettiquette, so maybe, you could post about it.

As for those who pop in without saying anything, sometimes it's caused by the slower internet speed of their computers, they might be already saying something but it does not appear for about a few seconds later on your screen or vice versa.
