Editing Your Meez’s Hair – the MHT Way

**WARNING***

Huge images D:

In this tutorial, you will learn how to edit a male and a female Meez’s hair in Adobe Photoshop or Gimp.
Step 1:
First things first, get a close-up. If this is your first edit, I give you permission to use either of my pre-made close-ups.
This is my female close-up:

This is my male close-up:

I only used a hat on the male simply because the Wentz Bangs look slightly odd without a hat in my opinion.
Step 2:
Open up Photoshop or gimp, whichever floats your boat, and paste your close-up there.
Step 3:
Once you have your Meez placed where necessary, grab the Dodge Tool.

For this close-up, I will be using a Natural Brush, size 40. This brush can be found in the Natural Brushes section. It is the very first brush.
Step 4:
Now that you have your brush size, make sure your settings are correct:
The Range HAS to be set to Highlights and the Exposure all depends on how intense you want your highlights to be. I have mine set to 40.
Step 5:
Your settings should be correct now. Once you fix your settings, put your highlights here and there; not too many, not too little.

Step 6:
Then, grab the Smudge Tool.

We fix the settings here as well. My brush is the same one I used for the Dodge Tool, same size too. Make sure your Mode is set to Normal and your Strength is set to 80%, then smudge your highlights to make the hair a bit lighter in some places- make sure you get all of it though.

Step 7:
Next, you need to get the Burn Tool.

This makes your Meez’s hair seem like it has depth.
We’re going to play with settings again. Keep the same brush you’ve had throughout, but make the size smaller. My brush size here is 30. Your Mode should say Shadows and your Exposure is going to be about 15 to 20. Then, put your shadows wherever you think they should be and repeat Step 6. It should end up something like this:

*I added a special touch because the Burn Tool turned the hair a reddish color. This WILL happen. To fix it, use the Eyedropper Tool and pick a segment of the hair that looks like its original color and grab the Brush Tool. Set the size of the brush to 40, the Mode to Normal, and the Opacity to about 25%. Then, paint over your hair. Do this only ONCE never twice. If you do it twice, the hair won’t look like it is supposed to.
And you have your finished product:

Now, for a male Meez, use the same steps, but don’t do too much. Just do a little to make it look more natural. Men don’t always have much depth or highlights in their hair since they tend to have less hair than women. I’d recommend toying with the Exposures and Sizes of the brush if you plan on doing a male Meez.
This is how it would look on a male:

Thank you for reading my tutorial, I hope you learned something from this!
