This is very helpful, thank you for your tips. I use the same gimp as you do (gimp 2.6.6=gimp 2).

I merged/anchored the layers, till it said "1 layer" at the top. Stil didnt work.

Oh yeah, and my version of GIMP doesnt have a layers palette. I have GIMP 2.0.
