Default How To Put Text Inside Text [GIMP];

How to Put Text Inside Text [GIMP];

Here's how to make something like this:

Step 1;
Open GIMP and make your background transparent and about 50 x 12; this can be smaller or larger depending on the size of the word.

Step 2;
Zoom in to about 400%. And using the font 04b03 at size 8, type what you want.
If you don't know how to download fonts;
Tut on Downloading Fonts off DaFont

Step 3;
Zoom out and go to Edit> Copy;
[ you may want to crop the transparent area a bit down if your word is small]

Step 4;
Open a new transparent file and make it about 550 x 300
Type whatever you wish on it with whatever font;

Step 5;
Optional Portion [but makes a cool effect]:
Click Path from Text;

Then go to Select> From Path
Then go to Select> Grow
Grow it about 2-3 pixels/inches whatever you are using.

1. Make sure both of these colors are the same, but different from the color of you already typed text. [Obviously in the picture above they're not the same yet..]
2. Click the Gradient tool.

Click Mode> Behind

And drag your mouse across the screen;
If you think the second color is too small you may go to Select>Grow and make it larger.

For another cool effect Go to Filters> Decor> Add Bevel; if the area that is selected is black.. This won't really do much. And you might want to click the wand and select a lighter colored area and try the Bevel effect.

Step 6;
NOW. To finally add the text.
First you want to go to Select> None
Then hit the Paint can.
Go to fill type and hit Pattern fill.
Type in Clipboard.

Step 7;
Finally, click in the text so that it becomes filled with whatever's on your clipboard.

And there you have it. :]
