The Forums The forums are a place on meez where meezers can talk to eachother, ask questions, make suggestions, enter contests, report a bug, and a whole lot more. To get here from any where on the site, any time, simply click on the "Community" tab in the bar menue at the top of the page. Forum Categories When you click "Community" a menu will come up like this:  All the little clickable categories are the different forums. Here is a list of the informational forums in "Meez Central" Meez Newz: Find out the latest of whats happening on Meez.com. There is a subforum when you click it that says "Newsletter." Here you can find more meez updates. Welcome Newbies: The forum you are currently in. This is the place where you can familiarize yourself with meez.com and the people here, and how everything works. There is a subforum in Welcome Newbies that says "Classic threads." Classic thread requirements: -It has more than 1,000 posts -It is continually posted in for two weeks -An administrator or moderator recommends it for classic status -Lucy AND Roscoe both think it should become a classic Support: This is a forum to use if you have a question, or are having trouble anywhere on the site. Roscoemeez (profile http://www.meez.com/profile.dm?uname=roscoemeez) will answer your questions the best he can. There are three subforums "Forum Questions": get quick answers to questions about the site "Bugs": The best place to go if you have an error in the site to report, but look and make sure it has not already been posted. "Tutorials": Learn how to do anything from photoshop with meez, to making posters Suggestions: Here you can make suggestions for meez.com. Anything from features to new clothing in the meezmaker. Just try to keep your suggestions to a limit of 3 that you really want. You can make more, but give others a chance too. Forum Rules I can't find the code of conduct link unfortunatly, but I can give you a rundown of some basics. -Be appropriate Watch your language, dont drop the f-bomb every other word, and be careful about the content of your posts. -Be respectful Respect all of the meezers around you, and the ambassadors, moderators, and admins. Constant bad behavior can lead to a ban (being kicked off the forums for a while) Controls I think you guys can figure most of this out, but here are some screenshots.  1 homepage link 2 check your messages (Personal messages, or PM) 3 Current forum you are in 4 check/send messages 5 Administrator announcements (site officials) 6 Sticky threads, threads that have been bookmarked 7 Forum threads 8 All of the pages of different threads  9 Forum moderators (people who watch over the forums) 10 Of course, jump to another forum 11 Wonder why some forums have stars? Thats because higher level meezers have the option to rate threads. The higher level you are, the more you can do. Name Colors "Basic Pink - the default color for all Meezers Italic Pink - Level 25+ Meezers Bold Pink - Level 35+ Meezers Bold Green - Meez Ambassadors (volunteers who help out new Meezers) Blue (or Italic Blue) - Moderators (volunteers who help keep the site clean) Bold Blue - Administrators (the Meez.com team, responsible for enforcing the rules and making announcements) Gold - VIP Meezer (Meezers who have become VIPs)" from Aquameez's thread. Colors apply in Meez Nation too. Other Information -Meez is not eharmony, don't give away any personal information like your password, phone number, adress, etc. In the forums. -You'll figure things out. Try spending time in forums that sound interesting. I myself love Fashionista Central, thats my main forum. But also try Meez Contests. The ones run by officials of meez.com often offer awesome prizes. -If someone is rude to you, ignore it. It happens to everyone, so dont overreact and start arguing, just let it go. -There are some forum feature that can only be used by VIPs. There is a section near the bottom all about VIP that you can see. VIPs have access to secret forums, they can all post images in their signature (anytime you see a picture below someone's post, that is a signature. You might not be able to make one for a while.) VIPs can also edit their mood, and that will show up above their meez when they post, so don't try searching for options you don't have. Meez Nation Meez nation is a 3d chat world, to put it simply. This is a place to talk instantly with online friends, while seeing your avatar and everyone elses. There are text-triggered animations that you will discover, or see other people use. Here is a list of all the ones I know. If you want to discover them for yourself, don't look :] dance or boogie (dance. Saying it more than once changes your direction) sit (sit. Saying it again changes your direction) *rockout* or kamikaze (Jump around like a maniac) kiss or *kiss* (blow a kiss) *vogue* or bluesteel (girls:madona vogue dance, boys: twirl thing) kyle (weird pointing thing) *rap* (rap  )*spin* (spin hehe) lol (laugh) rofl (roll on the floor laughing) wtf (dont know how to describe it haha) omg (girls: gasp boys:look like you got electocuted)  (smile) (frown)How to behave Basically, the rules here are the same as in the forums. Respect others, watch your language...except if you say certain cuss words in meez nation, you will be kicked out of the room. Also remember, no matter what anyone tells you, to keep your private information safe. Don't give out your number, adress, or password. If I see people do this, or anyone asking for numbers, I will auto report you. Controls Of course, click the Meez Nation tab at the top of your page to get to "MN" homepage. Then you will see a menu like this:  The different pictures that light up when you run your mouse over them are "hoodz." the hoods are: Posh Heights, Arcadia, Meez Hills, Uptown, Burbia, Chillville, Hells Kitchen, Outlandia, Arcadia. Click one to find a selection of different roomz you can enter. You will notice there are numbers underneath the pictures of different roomz. This shows how many people are in the room. Usually 20 people is full, you can't get into roomz with 20+ people. And of course numbers change as meezers enter and leave roomz. Here is what happens when you try to enter a full room.  And if you REALLY want to get in, you can keep clicking reconnect until you are in. Which is very irritating. So here is me when I finally get in  You notice the guy "Dread Whailer" in the corner? He's one of the guys I was talking about, you can buy animations from him. Anyways, to navigate, click about the room. Some objects such as microphones and bongoes are interactable, and when you click on them, well, you interact with them. To perform certain animations, like the ones you can buy, hold down the mouse on your name under your meez, and a dropdown menue will appear, then select an animation. Click on other people's names to view their profile. If a meez is advertising a party, this is how you get to their room the quickest. Their primary room will be seen on their profile. Anyways, thats pretty much how you operate meez nation. Pretty basic right? Personal Roomz Personal roomz are owned by individual meezers, private roomz where they can throw parties, and have friends visit. Like I mensioned above, to get to another meezers room straight from meez nation, hold the mouse down on their name until a drop down menu appears. Then select "profile" and you will be taken to the meezers profile. Hopefully this person made the room they are throwing a party in as their primary residence (it will be shown on their page) but if not, scroll down a little and find where it says "roomz." Here you can find any other roomz that the meezer owns, and find a list of previos roomz he/she has visited.  Personal roomz feature a screen where you can play your favorite videos, and, lets call it a message recorder. VIDEO SCREEN: To play a video, just walk over to the bottom right of a personal room and find the remote, which will be soem kind of end table. Click it and a menu will show up. Here you can select a top video from youtube, a meez video, or even copy a URL from a youtube video into "enter url" if you want something thats not on the list.  MESSAGE RECORDER: The "message recorder" as i call it is located in the bottom LEFT of a personal roomz screen. It looks like a little gray remote with a red number on it. To leave a message in another person's room, just click it, type your message, and even leave a gift. To check a message (you can only check messages in your own room) simply click it to read the messages. Note that you can only store 30 messages in a "message recorder."  Roomzmaker The roomzmaker is similar to the meezmaker. It is a place where you can create your own personal roomz. You can only make three though. To get to the roomzmaker, go to the top of your page, and where it says "avatars" hold your mouse over it for a second and a drop down menu will appear. Then select "roomzmaker." You can choose to buy a whole premade room, or you can mix it up. You can switch up the walls and floorings and objects. I think you guys can navigate that part You can monitor the price of the room next to the preview of your room. If you are satisfied with the look and price, save it, and name it. Note that currently you are not able Other Info -again, meez is NOT a dating site, don't give out personal information. Innapropriate talk/language can get you reported. -VIPs get benefits in Meez nation too. VIPs names appear gold in meez nation. They will have some animations you do not, and wont be able to get unless you join VIP. -Moderators names appear blue in meez nation as well, admins are blue and bold, and ambassadors are green if I'm not mistaken (I haven't seen any ambassadors in Meez Nation) -New roomz/hoodz are added periodically. New personal roomz and animations are added occationally too. Coinz What are they, what are they used for, how do I get them? Coinz are the "currency" used on Meez.com. They can be used to buy things in the meezmaker, buy personal roomz and animations in Meez Nation. You can earn coinz by playing games in the "games" section- up at the top of your screen is a game tab. The only games that give you coinz are the ones with rewards. When you choose a game, you can see how many coinz you will get in the game and what you have to do to get them if you click "awards." Coinz Cards/buying coinzYou can also pay money to buy coinz. You can get a coinz card at bestbuy, buy them by mobile phone, credit card or paypal. Here is a link if you want to know more about buying coinz, or, at the top of your screen next to your meez where it shows your coinz, click your coinz and it will give you options. Meezmaker You all are familiar with the meezmaker-its where you change your avatar. Coinz Items and free items In the meezmaker, on each item you will see in the corner it will either say "free" or an amount of coinz you have to pay to get that item. Meez is a FREE site, coinz are just the currency so unless you sign up to pay real money for coinz or VIP, you wont be charged for anything on the site. VIP benefits with the meezmaker VIPS get access to special items in the meezmaker that others don't. Things outlined in pink will either say VIP or First Look. When they say VIP, they mean VIP ONLY. First look means that in a few weeks, that item will be available to all meezers, but right now only VIPs can get it. Meez VIP What is VIP? Meez VIP is a program that lets meezers pay real money to get special items/options on the site. How much does it cost and where do I buy it? You can find prices and all of that information right here: http://www.meez.com/help.dm?question=vip VIP Benefits -Acess to exclusive meezmaker items/be able to use some items before other meezers (first look) -Access to exclusive hangouts, personal roomz items, and forums that are VIP only (these do not show up at all unless you are VIP -I think you get 500 coinz for joining -Customize your meez nation dance and get exclusive MN animations (I sure am saying "exclusive" a lot.) Other Info You may think that all of this is unfair, that VIPs get EVERYTHING, but they are also paying a lot of money to the site. That money is used in improving the site, fixing bugs, and adding cool new stuff for us to use, so don't think that they are just handed everything. Bugs and problems *ROSCOE MEEZ DOES NOT MONITER THE SUPPORT FORUM, HE MAY BE BALE TO HELP YOU IF HE SEES YOUR THREAD IN "BUGS" OR ANSWER SOME TECHNICAL QUESTIONS, BUT HE'S NOT THERE ALL THE TIME AND WONT BE ABLE TO RESPOND TO ALL OF YOU* Basically I'm gonna give you a list of errors you might experience. If you see ANY of these errors, don't worry. The meez team is working on fixing them so don't freak out and think something is wrong if the site is temporarily down. All links thanks to Pippyredhead  Meez Nation "Disconnected" error The meez team knows about this and is working hard to fix it. If you try to enter a room and it says "disconnected" don't sweat. It happens to me too. Sometimes you can reload, click the back arrow, try a different room, or just give it some time. Note that meez nation only works on Firefox and Internet Explorer. Meez Nation "Oops, connection failed" They know about this too. No need to hassle Roscoe unless there is something unique about your error. This is basically a message that shows up sometimes when you try to enter a room. Again, there isn't very much you can do. Wait, reload, be patient. Homepage "Service Temporarily Unavailable" or "Meez is Temporarily Down" It happens. No fret, usually just means the meez staff is working on errors or site maintenance, or even adding something. Check back in 15 minutes to an hour, whatever but this will happen occasionally. Forums down? This doesn't happen much anymore. When it happens I only see it last for like 3 minutes at most. Not something to worry about. "Oops" message when I try to get in the meezmaker? This is a bug the Meezteam is working on. This too is going to happen some but they are very close to being finished fixing the issue. Again, give it a little bit of time and it will be back up and running. Sometimes that happens and I can just click the back and forward arrow a few times. Didn't get my coinz from my game! I'm not sure if this is still an issue or if the problem is solved, but a little while ago people were not getting the coinz they should have from the games they played. Something is stuck in my meez in the meezmaker! Oh yeah. That happens too :] its just a glitch. People have been up in arms about it lately and Roscoe said it will be fixed soon. Its not permanent! I had a merry go round stuck to my hand one time lol. If you need more help with technical stuff, go here: Support forum> forum questions (if you just want a quick answer) bugs for more in depth answers Here are some new links that may help you, thanks to pippy thank you!Common Problems Screenshots and Exports Want to enter an avatar contest? Want to know how people get those pictures? I'll show you! Exports An export is a picture taken of your meez that you can post anywhere, it gives you different kinda of codes so you can even post them in a forum. I don't suggest exports if you are going to enter a contest, but I will show you how to make them anyways. First: At the top of your page where it says "avatars" hold your mouse over it for a second and a drop-down menu will appear. Select "export" Now you can either select your current look of one that you have saved to your album. (to save an outfit to your album, go to "my meez," drop down menu and select "my album." You will have to save your look to be able to put it into your album, which is one reason why I don't recommend this for contests, you have to buy everything first. Click save, you will be able to name and describe the outfit.) Next: Select the size, and if you want it animated or not. Note that only img codes will work in the forums. Here are the different options: Bodyshot 300x400 animated:  Bodyshot 175x233 animated: bodyshot 300x400:  bodyshot 175x260:  headshot 100x100: headshot 66x66:  headshot 48x48:  Screenshots Screenshots are more practical than exports, you don't have to pay for the items you wear, you can capture your meez at any point in an animation/move your meez around for different views, they're good to use in signatures, and it doesn't change as you change your meez. Here's how to use them: PC Screenshots: *Please note that there are other simpler ways to do this, this is merely the way I do it. If you want to find other ways to find screenshots, google it. This looks like a lot of steps, but its actually very quick I just went very in depth.* Look at your keyboard. If you are a PC user, in the top right corner of your keyboard should be a key that says something like "Prt Scrn," mine is next to my "scroll lock" key, and the "F12" key. This will take a whole picture of your current screen and copy it. Open "paint" or "paintbrush." go to "edit" "paste." Now you have the screenshot, go to "file" "save as" and title your picture.  Now, you can go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket or any other site that allows you to edit pictures and get a code (I highly reccomend making a photobucket account, its easy, free and useful. You will need this site or something similar to make screenshots.) Upload the screenshot. It takes a little longer to upload screenshots, they are really big. Once the screenshot has uploaded, you will get preview of the uploaded picture. click on "edit this image" and if you are using firefox, a new tab will open. Click "Crop." Select your meez, or whatever else you want for a final picture, and save it.   I personally use "save a copy" because sometimes when I write over the other one, the screenshot shows instead. Now you can grab the IMG code and paste it in the forums for a contest.  Mac Screenshots: *Please know that I do NOT own a mac, so these instructions are kinda iffy. If this guide does not work, check google by all means* Keys:
Good Links: Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket for exporting your images and getting the codes so you can use them in the forums. Picnik - edit photos the easy way, online in your browser is the best for actually editing screenshots. You can take a cropped screenshot and change the color, filter, add text, etc. This is a better web picture editer than photobucket. It is totally free, but you can get a premium edition with more features. Not that I do not reccomend this for dial up users as the site can run slowly even for me sometimes. Use in Contests The meez forums are full of creative meezers who often run contests with great prizes. Fashionista Central and Meez Contests are two forums to check out if you're interested in submiting your meez outfits for the public to see. In Fashionista Central, all contests are fashion related, and have a wild range of themes for you to fit. For example, if you enter a contest and the theme is "caveman" or "cavewoman" you have to try to make the most stone-age outfit you can. In Meez Contests, there is a whole forum for official contests, run by administrators. These offer rewards like coinz and VIP free for a month. Within Meez Contests is a whole forum for meezer made contests. You certainly CAN use exports in contests, but you can't do as much with them. Also the pictures will change as you change your meez. Now that you know how to make a custom meez picture, apply for a few competitions! Leveling Up Here is some more information about how to level up, and advantages of higher levels. Your level is a measurement of how much you contribute to the forums. It goes up when you post, and do various other things. Meezers with higher levels get special rewards, like bold names, custom titles, the ability to have a signature, access to secret forums, and more. How do I increase my level? You may level up when:
Yes! Anyone who breaks the Forum Rulz may lose one or more levels. Why isn't my level updating? Your level information is updated once per day. You must have posted in the last hour, or the update won't happen. What does the 'Level up' percentage mean? This measures how close you are to the next level. Say you were level 4. As you participate in the forums, your 'Level up' meter will go up. Once it gets to 100%, your level will increase to 5 and your level up meter will go back to 0%. What does the 'Activity' percentage mean? It measures how much you have been posting on the forums over the last five days. The higher the percentage, the more you have posted. What do you get at each level? Every 5 levels, you get a new title, and some new abilities.
Why is my signature messed up? If you had a level between 9 and 15, you can't change the color, font size, or other formatting of your signature. That ability is reserved for people at level 15+. Sometimes it is a picture, sometimes it is text or a link. You must be at least a level 5 meezer to have a signature of any sort. To see when you can post a picture, etc, see "Leveling Up" above. Signatures are sometimes called "siggys." How do I make one? I do not have the knowledge or time to tell you exactly how to make a picture signature. But I CAN give you links to threads that WILL tell you. First let me tell you that siggys are typically made in GIMP or photoshop, but programs may vary.
