Amber stared wide eyed. She sounded like she was choking on her own words. "Ja-jealous?! You think I'm jealous?" She crossed her arms, and gave me the 'stare'. "Is there any other way to describe it?" I spoke up. She rolled her eyes. "Being a good friend? Bubbles is trouble Jerrod." She simply stated. Once again it was silent, just not the kind I was hoping for a few minutes ago. "You've turned into some bitch." The thought accidentally slipped out. And I instantly regretted it. Amber gasped. "You know what Jerrod! I don't..don't" Tears spilled out the edges of Amber's eyes. They streaked down to her chin. She was now sobbing. "Need you!" She finished, coughingon her sobs. I instantly rubbed my hand against her back, trying to calm her down. She flung it off. Were girls always this emotional? Amber's drenched, reddened face stared at me for a couple seconds then she ran to her car. I wanted to run to her, but what was the point? I sat under the rusted slide, piled all the little brown and gray woodchips. My memories swooshed into focus.
Amber was shoved onto the hopscotch center. "Don't you ever, touch me again.Freak!" A little kid screamed at her. She started crying, and pretty soon a teacher came into view. The teacher bent down and ran her fingers through Amber's dark, silky hair. "Honey, are you alright?" She asked in a soothing voice. Amber looked behind the teacher at her bully. The little boy, nodded his head and revealed his fist to her. Amber's eyes stared at the teacher with shock. "Honey?" The teacher repeated, a little bit concerned.Amber, swiped her tears with her sleave and used her fake smile. She sniffled. "Im good now." My miniture self waited for the teacher to leave, than I ran to Amber. I wrapped my arms around her. "Slide?" I asked, slipping my hands into hers. She smiled, revealing her two missing teeth in the front. Her bully approached us."What are you doing Jerrod?!" He asked. "Hanging out with my friend." I stepped closer, standing over him by an inch or two. "uh-oh ok." He studdered backing up. No one had control over me. Amber and I walked to the rusted slide, and I let her crawl under first. I slipped in right next to her. She covered her ears with her hair. I didn't understand though. She was beautiful. "How was school today?" She asked, looking at her new scap on her arm from earlier. "Awesome! The teachers are so nice, like always. But your nice too. Thats why your so cool." I could feel my cheeks burning. She giggled. "Thanks." And simply kissed my cheek. The cheeks were burning up again. I looked at her. She had scratches all over her arms and legs and- someone was tapping my shoulder. I was kind of mad they brought me back to reality. I turned my head to face the stranger. Hmm, a pink streak? It was definately Bubbles. She always brought a smile to my face. Like Amber did. I sighed. "Hey, are you alright?" She asked, a look of concern was pasted onto her face. It was so weird she reminded me of Amber.

I closed my eyes, taking it all in on what had happened. "Yeah. Fine." I said. Bubbles sat down next to me. " I heard the whole thing." She whispered quietly. I straightened my neck up to look at her. Her eyes were wet also. There wasn't a beautiful, violet spark in them anymore. I wiped the water droplets away with my thumb. She slowly grabbed my hand and pulled it downward. "No need for tears." I said smiling, trying to lighten the mood. "I'm sorry. I'm such an emotional person." She sniffled, and sunk her head into my chest. I rubbed her back. Finally, someone to comfort, other than me. "No your not. I understand what you were going through. You should have never had heard that." I responded, closing my eyes. "Thanks Jerrod." Her voice twinkled. She tied her arms around my neck, and lifted up her head. I didn't even know her. But somehow. I just couldn't get her out of my head. "I suppose I should get going." She stood up ducking her head, so it wouldn't bang against the slide. "Wait." I said reaching my hand out to her. "I'll give you a ride home." I said finishing my statement. She shook her head. "No, Jerrod. Thats alright. You go along and get back to your party. I have to get going anyway." She said smiling. "Really Bubbles. I don't care. I will." I pleaded. I really just wanted a couple more minutes to talk to her. She was leaving in such a hurry. She giggled. She switched moods so fast, it was so abnormal."Oh Jerrod.*sigh* your too cute. Here, we need to hang out again sometime." She pulled out a marker and some crumpled up paper. She swiftly wrote out her number and gave it to me. "I really need to get going. Can't keep the family waiting." She winked, turned, and ran off. She was so fast, for a second I thought she was still here. Aughh, why did she have to leave? To think, I thought my night was going to get better. I should just go back home and sleep. I walked back to my car, making sure my feet dragged behind me.
