Online | gosh i feel like such a sucker... sorry for the delay!!! Note: The first post I made is now changed to the PREFACE. Meris's light bulb started to flicker, and she prayed silently, and desperately for it to stay lit. Her heavy army boots started splashing into deeper water. She knew she was drawing closer to the door she was supposed to come to, because that place must be the source of the water. The echoing splashes of her feet were the only things that could be heard throughout the tunnel. Then her soft brown eyes saw a faint outline of something a distance from her. She assumed this was the door, because she saw some watery, faint, flickering light coming from below the outline. She pulled herself against the grimy wall, thankful that this was no longer a sewer. Her white plastic hand gloves were squelching horribly against the mold and grime on the walls. Meris clamped her eyes shut and scrunched her face up in disgust. As she edged closer to the crack of light, she heard some mumbles. Maybe they weren't mumbles from the inside, but that was all she could make out. She could only understand some useless words. Such as 'you' and 'terrible.' So there were two people. This was a discussion she was in on. She pulled her light bulb away from the wall so it was closer to her face. She used all her hearing abilities to try to understand the words. Her elbow hit a bump on her hip, and she was reminded, in a wave of relief, she was not weaponless. She had a black small shotgun at hand. "Thank God." Meris whispered to herself, so only she could hear. Her dirty bright red hair was rustled slightly by a distant wind, and she heard a distant, faint rumble of thunder. At this moment she felt distant from everything, as if she was in a separate universe. Nothing sounded near. Part of her was grateful for that, because that meant she was not in danger. (: Hope you're satisfied.

It's very well written, I'd like a little more... Uhm, personality though. A little more umph, if you know what I mean. Otherwise, it's great. Something I would definitely read. I just want some.... More... In depth emotion.
